Trouble Shooting

There are several reasons why Byzio may not load, due mostly to Windows security issues.

1. Start Microsoft Visio
2. On the Tools menu, select Macros, then select Security.
3. On the Trusted Publishers tab, check the "Trust access to Visual Basic Project".
4. Press the OK button and restart Visio.

2. On the View menu, select Toolbars, then select Customize.
3. On the Customize tab, check the "Menu Bars" check box – even though it may be checked.
4. Then click the Reset button
5. Press the OK button and restart Visio.

1. From the Visio Help menu, select About Microsoft Office Visio
2. Click on the Disabled Items button
Select the Zynium Byzio
3. Click on the Close button
Restart Visio

1. Close all instances of Visio
2. Run Regedit (from the Start menu, select Run..., then in the window that opens type Regedit and press the OK button.
3. Click the '+' sign next to the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4. Scroll down to the Software entry, click on the '+'
5. Scroll down to the Microsoft entry, click on the '+'
6. Scroll down to the Visio entry, click on the '+'
7. Scroll down to the Addins entry, click on the '+'
8. Scroll down to the Zynium_ entry, click on the file icon
9. If the LoadBehavior data value is not 3, right click on LoadBehavior and select Modify. in the Value data entry, replace the current value with a 3 and click OK.
10. Close Regedit
11. Restart Visio, the Zynium menu option should now be visible

It is possible that Visio™ was running during the Installation, so some settings couldn't be set correctly. Uninstall the Zynium Byzio , close all running Visio instances and reinstall the Zynium Byzio.

You need to download and install the Visio Service Pack 2.0 here. Upon completion exit Visio and reopen. Go to the Zynium Mapping screen and begin mapping.

Installation of Byzio

System Requirements

Before you install the Zynium Byzio you will need to have Microsoft Visio 2003 and Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 loaded. If you do not have them loaded please exit this installation and install the pre-requirements first, then install the Zynium Byzio.

Zynium recommends that you have at least 5 MB disk space and 512 MB RAM, and a minimum of 1 GHz speed processor.

Software Requirements

The Zynium Byzio requires at least the following:

1. Microsoft Windows® 2000, Windows® 2003, or Windows® XP
2. Microsoft Visio 2003 & 2007
3. The Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or higher 
4. Microsoft Visio 2003 Service Pack 2.0

Installation Instructions

To Install the Zynium Byzio

1. Run the install, setup.exe application.
2. Start Microsoft Visio

If the Zynium tab does not appear then follow these steps:

• 1. On the Tools menu, select Macros, then select Security.
• 2. On the Trusted Publishers tab, check the "Trust access to Visual Basic Project". Press the OK button and restart Visio. The Zynium menu option should be now be visible to the left of the Help menu option.

• 1. Choose View > Toolbars > Customize > Reset
• 2. Close MS Visio
• 3. Restart MS Visio

To uninstall the Zynium Byzio

1. You can uninstall Zynium Byzio from the Zynium Byzio menu
2. You can uninstall Zynium Byzio via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
3. NOTE: The .NET Framework 1.1 is not automatically uninstalled during uninstallation. If you want to uninstall the .NET Framework 1.1 too, please use the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

To unload the Zynium Byzio COM Add-In

1. On the Tools menu, point to Macros, and then click COM Add-Ins.
2. To remove an add-in from memory but keep its name in the list, clear the check box next to the add-in name.
3. To remove an add-in from the list and from the registry, select its name and then click Remove

Note: Unloading an add-in doesn't remove the add-in file from your computer. It just removes the add-in from memory and from the registry.
