Product FAQ sheet – Zynium Byzio Pro™

Zynium designs Microsoft® Office Visio® process map data extraction solutions and transforms the data into the XPDL standard for use business process optimization solutions. Zynium also designs middleware for workflow and business process applications.

Presently, Zynium markets the Byzio Pro™ . The Zynium Byzio Pro™ is a Microsoft® Visio® 2003 COM Add-in written in C# .Net framework SP1.1. The intent is to move the graphic information from Microsoft® Visio® to another application. The form of this communication is an XML file that is formatted according to the WfMC XPDL v2.0 specification.

The Zynium Byzio Pro™ menus have been added to the Microsoft® Visio® default menu bar. The Zynium Byzio Pro™ is initiated by a conventional menu selection. The application (as of today) will take all the 2D shapes on the current Microsoft® Visio® page, including our BPMN stencil and translate them into XPDL Activities and all the 1D shapes on the current Microsoft® Visio® page and translate them into XPDL Transitions. The Transitions will be linked to the correct activities.

Perform BPMN validation on your BPMN designed map.  This validation provide you instant feedback as to the correctness of the map occurring to the OMG Standard.

How we can interact? By providing the BPM, ERP or workflow vendor, specific XML information to their business process application’s requirements. For example;

1. Microsoft® Visio® uses layout dimensions in inches or millimeters with the center of the object being the 0,0 position. XPDL wants the upper left corner defined as 0,0 for the object.
2. The names of the shapes used in Microsoft® Visio®, e.g., “Decision”, “Dynamic connector”, may not be the name of the objects used by a particular vendor, though we have built the Zynium Byzio Pro™ to translate any Microsoft® Visio® shape to the supported BPM, ERP or workflow vendor standards.
3. As per the XPDL spec, the activities contain the following information: the shape name, height, width, x and y location of the upper left corner, the page upon which the shape is located, the border and background colors of the object, and the text.
4. Similarly, as per the XPDL spec, the transitions contain among other things, the following information: the shape name, x and y location of the beginning and end of the connector (arrow), the page upon which the shape is located, the border and background colors of the object, and the text.
5 Many of our partner engines have implemented the standard differently.  We deliver the Byzio Pro™ with our BPMN stencil to enable a structured approach in conjunction with our partners engines.  We maintain the integrity of the partner engine and the original process map during the round trip to optimize the quality if the iteration, communication between the business and IT teams.
6 Provide your teams with a inexpensive structured process and use case application to design, capture, and iterate to improve your organization.

As Microsoft® Visio® middleware for workflow experts, Zynium will work with BPM application vendors to create the specific file output linkages for your application standards. Empower your customers with “Best-in-Class” process maps. Enable them to reengineer the maps, while complying with audit requirements, which have been signed “in blood” by your customers’ executives.
